Browsing through my nail varnish collection this morning on a mission to cover my sad and unloved bare nails I found the Ciaté Pom Pom shade. It was actually part of the Caviar Mini Bar set which I received for Christmas (I will do a review on this and the general caviar craze soon). But this collection was my first experience with Ciaté as a brand and I have decided to concentrate on the varnish as opposed to getting too excited with the shiny caviar beads, which is pretty much a summary of my Christmas day.
Pom Pom is a perfect summer nail varnish, possibly a bit hopeful of me wearing it in bleak February I know. I would describe it as a coral, but definitely more of an orange coral as opposed to pinker creamier shades. The colour is vibrant and fun and only took two coats along with a bottom and top coat to get full opacity, with a glossy finish.
I didn’t find the nail varnish went on smoothly at all, in comparison to my Essie nail varnishes which I am in love with but this might be down to the smaller brush on the miniature version. Although once perfected the finish is lovely, already after one day I have noticed a few chips so I’m slightly disappointed with the quality.
I will definitely be wearing this shade again simply because of the gorgeous colour, however I’m yet to be convinced to buy a full sized Ciaté nail varnish.
