An Introduction to American Makeup

american makeup 2

Life has taken over a little bit this last week, things are getting slightly hectic on the university front and I barely have a moment spare. I work so hard during the week so I can relax a bit more on my weekends, so as soon as those days off do come I turn my attention back to blogging. Over Summer my sister was lucky enough to have a lovely holiday in the States and along the way she picked up a few bits and bobs for me. I’ve always been desperate to get my hands on some American pieces as I just feel we lose out by not having some brands sold over here in the UK, so it was such a nice surprise for her to pick these up for me. I’ve been experimenting with them all lots since I’ve got them but I’ll save full reviews for another day.

Beige Mega Shine Lip Gloss by NYX
Rose Champagne Glow Shimmer by Wet n Wild
Rose Golden Goddess by Wet n Wild
Black Eyeliner Pencil by Jordana
Think Pink Lipstick by Wet n Wild
Sugar Lip Shimmer by Wet n Wild
Peach Blush by NYX
Sun-Set to See Eyeshadow by Wet n Wild
Smoke and Melrose Eyeshadow Palette by Wet n Wild

Wet n Wild are a brand I’ve heard so much about, doing great quality products for bargain prices. I was so excited to finally get to try some of their range and so far I really haven’t been disappointed. The shimmer palettes I was particularly looking forward to, the champagne glow and the golden goddess looking equally as beautiful, and so far I’m really really impressed. Both of them leave the nicest sheen, making them comparable to the Hourglass ambient lights. These are both definitely going to get a review and I can see them sneaking into my monthly favourites very shortly too. The eyeshadow palettes are also lovely, with them being perfect for travel (which I do a lot of). The colour pigmentation is fantastic and I can’t wait to use them more. I haven’t tried out the lip products yet, only doing swatches on my hand but I can’t wait to try these out, I’m sure they will be just as good as the rest!

NYX is another brand I’ve heard lots about but haven’t tried but I’ve been reaching for the lipgloss and blush so much since they’ve been in my makeup bag. Recently I wrote about my new found love of lipgloss and this NYX one has only furthered my obsession, the colour is perfect for everyday and the formula is long lasting and not at all gloopy. The thing that impressed me about the blush was quite how long lasting it was, it looked unchanged after an eight hour work day – perfect.

Jordana is a brand I haven’t heard of but I’ve been after a new black kohl pencil for a while so this was a lucky choice! The pencil itself is 7 inches long so I feel this is going to last me a very long time. Again I’ve only swatched this but the pigmentation and formula seems lovely and buttery so I need to get this on my eyes asap.

This was just a brief introduction to my new products and I’m pretty sure they will all appear on various posts in the future as I’m so impressed. If you want any specific reviews just let me know.
