whats-in-my-november-makeup-bag

It’s November and being a typical blogger it’s definitely one of my favourite times of the year. I absolutely love pre-Christmas winter, January and February are always a bit miserable and meh but November/December is just the best. It’s fully acceptable to be all Christmassy with loads of fun festive events and things going on in London, plus you can wrap up warm whilst you’re at it! I love the dark nights and the crisp days, I just love it all! I also feel well and truly into autumnal makeup mood now, I had quite a late start this year but now I’m embracing all the colour trends. So now to take a sneak inside my makeup bag for this month!

Sephora Wonderful Cushion Luminizer
I wrote about this briefly in my recent Sephora Haul and it’s become an instant hit. Whilst I obviously love a good highlight, I’ve recently become more and more into illuminators. This one in particular offers more sheen than sparkle and is just perfect for everyday. I love the pearlsescent shade and think it’s really flattering on my skin tone, plus the cushion applicator is really easy to work with. I’ve been reaching for this most days now and I can see it getting a lot of use in November.

Daniel Sandler Intense Volume Pro Mascara
I’ve had this sitting in my “to try” collection for quite some  time, I was reluctant to open yet another mascara as I seem to always have so many on the go and they just go off so quickly once opened. However, it got to that point where the curiosity had gotten the better of me and it is now open. Whilst I won’t be reaching for this every single day, I tend to go for definition rather than volume when coating my lashes daily, it will be perfect for when I want to amp things up a little. I’ve got a few occasions this months, and this will be going right into my makeup bag for those.

NARS Blush in Sin
Sin is once of my all time favourite autumn winter blushers and it hasn’t had any love this year yet, so I definitely need to start reaching for it again. It’s the most gorgeous mauve-plum shade that compliments a berry lip so damn well. I’m a huge fan of NARS blushers in general, I have quite a few in my collection, as they blend out beautifully, come in beautiful and unusual shades, and they last well too. Sin ticks all the boxes so it’s going straight into my every day makeup collection.

Rimmel  The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks in High Flyer and The Matte Factor
These have been everywhere at the moment as quite a few bloggers got sent the entire collection. I was going to do a full review on them all but now I’m not so sure as things might get a bit repetitive, let me know what you think? Anyway, I reviewed the original The Only 1 lipsticks a few months back and to be honest I was never that impressed. However, my first impressions of the matte versions are much better. I think High Flyer might be my new favourite everyday lipstick, it’s just gorgeous! Another stand out for me is The Matte Factor, another amazing autumnal shade. I can definitely see these two becoming regulars in my makeup bag.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve
Another Sephora pick which has been an instant hit. The colour was slightly darker than I thought it would be, it initially looks like a good everyday colour but actually once dry it’s quite dark on me so is much more of a statement. But I’m totally ok with that especially as it’s so long lasting so you don’t need to worry about it transferring or fading throughout the day.

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette
This eyeshadow quad just screams autumn, it doesn’t get much love throughout the rest of the year but boy it works for now. I actually read a post by the lovely Millie at abeautyromance who inspired me to rethink how I was using the palette as I followed her step-by-step usage of how she uses it. I actually much prefer the way she uses the shades and I’ve fallen hard all over again, such a pretty look. I can see myself repeating that makeup look a lot this month so thanks Millie!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation
I caved. I bought it again. I tried to be experimental and go for a different drugstore foundation (L’Oreal True Match first impressions) but I just didn’t like it, and I knew I needed Colorstay back in my life. Over Summer I was pretty much just using CC creams so this felt a lot heavier in comparison, but it’s really nice to have a medium to full coverage foundation back in my collection for events, days out or just generally when I want more flawless looking skin. This is my third or fourth bottle now and I’m sure it won’t be my last!
