Cue all the talk about how fast this year is already going, and I can hark a bet that it isn’t going to slow down! Throughout January I feel like my love of beauty really escalated. Throughout the second half of last year I didn’t actually buy much makeup, I wasn’t that excited by anything and I had so many no makeup days. I think working from home really encouraged that, but I made a little promise to myself that this year I would make more effort and I’ve fallen in love with beauty all over again. This month I’m even more determined to explore my makeup collection a little more, so here’s what I’ll be using.
BECCA Backlight Priming Filter
I got this much coveted primer for Christmas and since then it hasn’t really left my sight. I don’t use it every single day but on any days where my skin is looking a little dull or I’m doing something special I will always reach for this primer. It just adds the most gorgeous airbrushed glow to your skin, in fact I might even start wearing this on no makeup days so I look slightly more alive.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
My foundation of choice recently has been this one from Rimmel. I’m a huge fan of Rimmel foundations, always have been, and this one is possibly my favourite one yet. I picked it up on a whim as I decided to buy an old favourite Wake Me Up but it wasn’t in my shade, so this had to do. I’m so pleased it did fall into my basket though as it has a beautiful dewy finish whilst still providing a medium coverage. I’m still on the look out for something a bit more high coverage for events and days out, but for everyday use this is perfect.
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
I was all raving about this a few months back and then I suddenly found myself using Collection Lasting Perfection once again and it went back in a drawer. When sorting through my makeup I decided to pop it back into my everyday makeup bag and after one use I remembered just why I liked it so much. It’s perfect for brightening under the eye area and lasts well on the skin too.
Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Rose Glow
Again, a few months back I was raving about this blusher and was using it everyday, but maybe because of the seasons changing I swapped it out for my autumnal and winter blushers. However, these little bottles don’t last long (6 months ish) so I really need to start using it again and make the most out of it before it expires! Then I’ll probably go for another shade.
Beauty Pie Triple Beauty Liquid Luminizer
I feel like I haven’t used this little highlighting pot to its full potential yet. I’ve applied it in the normal highlighter areas and I’ve loved it, but I want to try using it before foundation and also mixing it into foundation for even more glow. I absolutely love luminizers and their versatility so I definitely want to embrace this one and see how it performs when applied in the other ways.
MAC Soft & Gentle
Soft & Gentle definitely goes through flows of popularity, and I feel like at the moment everyone is talking about it again. This has definitely inspired me to use it a bit more, and now I have some brand new highlighter brushes (will be coming soon to the blog!) I can’t wait to try them out with Soft & Gentle.
Rimmel Magnifieyes Eyeshadow Palette in London Nudes Calling
I’ve had this in my collection for a few months now and it has gone pretty much untouched (I just have too many palettes clearly!). The other day I was at home and my mum had really nice eye makeup and I asked her what she was using, and it was this, and then since then I’ve seen loads of bloggers raving about it too. She said the darker shades particularly are just beautiful and carry a lot of pigmentation. Definitely need to pay this little one more attention!
NARS Lip Gloss in Priscilla
Another one I got for Christmas and I’ve become slightly obsessed with. I’ve honestly never tried a lip gloss like this in terms of formula, it stays on for SO long, longer than most of my lipsticks and yet delivers a gorgeous high shine finish. I love the bright colour of this and how girly it is. I’ve always had a thing for pink gloss (think Cher from Clueless) and this definitely ticks that box.
