You may have noticed, although let’s be honest you probably didn’t, that last month I skipped out my skincare round up. I just felt like there wasn’t much new to say throughout March as I try so hard to not switch up my routine as much anymore. I had put up my Evening Skincare Routine too, so I felt like you all knew what I was up to skincare wise. This month I’ve been writing a lot about skincare as a freelance writer and I feel like I’ve become incredibly educated on different ingredients and what my skin actually needs, so I do want to make some changes and have really enjoyed trying some new products. So basically a lot more to say for April!

PMD Personal Microderm Device
I mentioned my PMD back in my February round up and I promised I would report back. Now I’m absolutely useless with these kinds of things and typically this sat unloved for many weeks. But two weeks ago I decided to finally give it a go, so although I’m not a month in yet I thought I’d let you know my first impressions. Last year I really suffered with my skin and I had more spots than I even had as a teenager, this year I’ve barely had any spots however I still having scarring from them. Being pale sadly means that my skin shows up any imperfection for months. In the two weeks I’ve used this I’ve really noticed a change and my spot scarring is actually disappearing! My skin is looking brighter with a more even skin tone and texture. You build it up every week with what disc you use, so I can’t wait to see how wonderful my skin looks in another two weeks!

Antipodes Immortal SPF15 Face & Body Moisturiser
Like I said, this month I’ve written a lot about skincare in my day to day job, particularly anti-aging and the main thing I’ve taken from it all is WEAR SPF. I’ve always know that you should wear SPF daily but never actually put it into action, but researching so much about just how damaging UV rays are has really given me a kick up the bum and I’ve finally started to wear a separate SPF – SPF in your makeup just isn’t good enough. I’ve been applying this Antipodes moisturiser every day after my own moisturiser and I feel so much better about life. I think I’m going to upgrade to a higher SPF soon but for now I just feel better that I’m wearing some!

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
This is a little sample size mask and for some reason, I can’t remember for the life of me where I got this, but anyway! This Glycolactic mask was one of the first high-end face masks I ever bought, and I ain’t looked back since. I obviously ran out of the full sized version and actually never picked it up again because I had a few similar other ones to use up first, but using this sample has made me realise how good a mask it is. I always think REN masks are the best for instant effects. It’s actually a decent sample so I should get about 5 masks out of it and then I’m definitely going to repurchase!

Korres Anti-Wrinkle & Firming Night Cream & Eye Cream
Last month I went to a Korres launch event for their new anti-aging range – Castanea Arcadia, and it was absolutely fascinating learning about all the research that went into creating this collection. The products are based around a natural ingredient Lupeol which is found in the Castanea chestnut tree, and Korres discovered it has incredibly high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. It’s one of the only ingredients known to actually reverse the effects of aging cell deep, whilst also brightening and firming skin. Whilst I don’t have any wrinkles just yet, it’s never too young to start with anti-aging so I’ve just started using the night cream which like all Korres night creams is beautifully buttery and thick. I’m going to save the day cream for winter as it’s a little too much for my combination skin but the eye cream has also made my rotation. I’ll report back next month!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Oil
I got this for my birthday at the end of March and I’ve been loving using it this month. When I want a dewy complexion this is an absolute must. I think it’s the kind of product I’ll get a lot of use out of in winter as it really restores a glow to your skin that you lose throughout the colder months, but who knows whether I’ll have any left by then?! I’ve also surprised myself by using it in the lengths of my hair. Normally I’m scepticals of oils on my fine hair but this is so lightweight that it doesn’t weigh my hair down in the slightest and instead just tames flyaways and nourishes it.

What have you been using throughout April and what are you trialing for May?
