After experiencing some Colourpop last year by winning a giveaway I was pretty desperate to get my hands on some more, but to be honest the whole ordeal of ordering seemed stressful enough to put me off. So when MyMallBox got in touch saying they would take over that process for me I was definitely keen. It took me so long to decide what to get as their shade ranges are a little overwhelming, so I ended up with a collection of recommendations and things I’d just eyed up myself. I love lots of the stuff, but also don’t love a few things I’d hoped to, so it’s a bit of a mixed bag.
How I ordered with MyMallBox
MyMallBox work by giving you a US shipping address so you can order from websites that don’t normally deliver to the UK or have expensive shipping. I actually did things a bit differently as I used their ‘Buy For Me’ service where you give them the links and they order for you. It does mean you miss out on some Colourpop deals, but I had some credit to use so it worked for me, plus I was surprised at how quickly they process it all. I ordered all of this in two small packages, keeping the value under $30, which was really easy to do with MyMallBox. This meant that thankfully I didn’t have to pay any customs, so well worth doing.
Overall, I found the whole MyMallBox process really easy. Their website is so easy to use and you can really easily track every step of the process, especially in the Buy For Me orders. The service really took all the stress out of ordering from the US and I’d definitely use it again for Colourpop and other US companies. If you are keen to sign up I’ve got a cheeky referral link for you here! Now let’s take a look at what I picked up.
Super Shock Shadow in Wattles, La La, Bill & Cornelious
One of my favourite things from the Colourpop giveaway is the Super Shock Shadow in Amaze, I’m obsessed with the bouncy and blendable formula, so I knew I had to pick up a few more. I spent so long choosing the shades and to be honest they all turned up looking completely different to how I expected. In fact, that’s the running theme of this Colourpop haul – everything looks so different on site. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean I don’t like them.
My favourite of the bunch is definitely La La, a gorgeous copper shade which is so pigmented and pretty. The two matte shades Bill and Cornelious are both nice but they don’t blend out as easily as the non-matte ones I’ve tried. Cornelious is the perfect crease shade though and with some work I do really like it. Bill is much more purple than I had hoped so I’m not sure I’ll get much use out of it. Wattles is the most popular Colourpop shadow and although I like it, it’s not half as impressive as Amaze or La La and it’s a touch too pink for my liking. I’m going to review these all properly soon so you can see them in action.
Super Shock Blush in Between The Sheets
I would say Between The Sheets is the worst culprit for not looking like it does on the website as it’s so much darker and more muted in person. When it turned up I was disappointed as I thought it’d be too dark and I wanted something more subtle, but it actually applies quite sheer so you can have it light or build it up. I’m really into red and orange toned blushers rather than my typical pinks at the moment and this is perfect for the job. Again the formula works so well for a blush so I’d definitely pick up more.
Super Shock Highlighter in Lunch Money
I felt it was basically rude to do a Colourpop order without ordering the infamous Lunch Money and I can’t say I’ve been disappointed. Lunch Money is such a pretty light champagne highlighter, and the bouncy Super Shock formula lends itself so well to highlighters. I must say it’s not quite as pigmented as I’d expected with all the hype it gets, but it’s a nice everyday choice.
Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park
I love the Satin Lip I have in Alyssa already, so I knew I had to pick up another one but I was so torn on shades. Echo Park isn’t normally the type of shade I’d go for but everyone seems to love it so I decided to listen to the people rather than my instincts. And turns out, instincts are clearly useless as I love it. It kind of reminds me of a liquid version of Velvet Teddy, which you know I love, and I can see myself reaching for it a lot.
Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper
I was really unsure whether to try a Matte Lip as generally I’m coming to the conclusion that I’m just not that big on matte liquid lipsticks, but curiosity got the best of me and I put Beeper in my basket. Oh, what a regret as I absolutely hate it. It’s not the formula I hate, I didn’t find it as drying as I’d expect but the colour is just awful on me. It’s the most unflattering cool-toned dark brown which just makes me look a little bit deceased. I’m also struggling to apply it evenly as it tends to go darker around the edges, I just hate it if I’m honest.
Ultra Glossy Lip in Saddle Up
You all know I’m a big fan of gloss so couldn’t resist picking one up. Again, I spent ages picking a shade and whilst there was loads of dusky rose shades I was tempted by, I decided to go for a risk and go for this bright coral. I kept reading reviews that it was really sheer, but still I feared it would turn up being bright orange, but the reviews were right. It’s a gorgeous sheer wash of coral which is just the perfect summer look. Saddle Up looks scary but it’s really, really lovely.
Lippie Stix in Brink
I knew I wanted another Lippie Stix as I love how lightweight and wearable the formula is from Cookie, and I’m so glad I did. Brink is a gorgeous dark rose shade (again looks nothing like the light terracotta on the website) that is the perfect everyday lip. They’re so quick and easy to apply, I can definitely see myself ordering more already.
