Cara’s Camo Look from Rimmel

I’m a bit of a sucker for beauty themed collections so when a Rimmel delivery came with ‘Cara’s Camo Look’ I was all over that – and I’m not even big on camo! I’ve always loved Cara Delevinge’s style, I totally appreciate it’s the polar opposite of my style but I can still admire her choices. This collection definitely screams Cara, who knows how involved she actually was, but the brows are there, the khaki is there and there’s a classic nude lip to finish the look. The range is only in Superdrug and is limited edition so best be quick if you like what you see.

Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer
I have a little bit of an affinity with these stick concealers as my mum always used one when I was younger and I was fascinated by it – this was clearly pre-makeup days, imagine what I’d have been like with a Naked palette?! Anyway, I feel like they’ve massively decreased in popularity but actually, for blemishes I quite like them. I’ve used this to conceal a few blemish scars and it’s done a great job, I don’t have any spots to actually test it out on at the moment though but it has good pigmentation without feeling particularly drying so I reckon it’d be a good solution.

Rimmel Brow This Way
I’m quite fussy with brow gels as I’ve become used to the tiny wand of Gimme Brow, and the even tinier wand of Legendary Brows from Charlotte Tilbury. This in comparison is huge and I don’t have the biggest brows so I’ve struggled with it. It definitely provides greater coverage than the two others I just mentioned but as a result you lose out on precision. I can see why this is a Cara brow as it’s quite a rough and ready look.  I do like the clear version that this comes in as it does a great job at setting my brows in place so I’ll probably stick to that.

Rimmel Brow Highlighter Pencil Shimmer
I never normally highlight my brow bone because it’s already quite prominent and it can make my eyes look more hooded if I apply too much. But this brow highlighting pencil is so much better as I can be a lot more precise with it than I would be able to with a normal highlighter and brush, so I can enjoy a highlight without bringing it down too far. The light pink pencil is really flattering and brightening, and basically, I’m a big fan. I’ve heard it’s a dupe of Benefit’s High Brow and I can definitely see that.

Rimmel Extra 3D Lash Extreme Black
As soon as I opened this mascara I knew I’d like it as the wand is quite long and thin which is actually what I like. Often lengthening mascaras aren’t that buildable but this one layers up perfectly for a fairly volumised look. There are no clumps to be seen and it’s a really deep black tone. This mascara is my surprise favourite of the collection.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Lipstick 45
You guys know I love the Rimmel lipsticks so I was delighted to see a new shade in the collection and this one is a beautiful pink nude shade. It has a satin finish and is probably going to look best on those with cool-toned skin. I thought this shade might be a little light for me but actually it’s turned around rather nice. It isn’t the most long lasting but I wouldn’t mind topping it up on the go as it’s fairly hassle free.

Rimmel Nail Polish in Desert Disguise, Camo Girl, and Black Out
It’s so nice to see some nail polishes enter a themed collection as I feel that doesn’t happen as much as it should. Not gonna lie, I haven’t had the chance to try these out yet so I can’t comment on the longevity, application or opacity but as soon as I give them a go I’ll report back. I’m quite keen to try Camo Girl as I have a little bit of a thing for khaki nails.

Overall, I think the look is a great day to night look. You can easily wear this as an everyday look as I have above or I could go a little heavier on the eye makeup for an evening feel. I’m a big fan of the lipstick shade, and love the brow highlight which I’ve used on the inner corners too. The mascara does a really great job and although the brow gel doesn’t offer great precision, it does have a good amount of pigmentation – much more than a normal brow gel.

Will you be trying anything from the Rimmel Camo Collection?
