All this week I’ve been talking about my favourite autumnal makeup and one of my other favourite things to switch up is my nail polish. I’m a big fan of seasonal nail polish – I’m very strict as to when and where certain hues make an appearance. I have quite the collection of autumn-appropriate varnishes so it was a tricky job trying to pick out my favourites but let’s take a look at what I’ve picked for my edit.
Essie Lady Like
I feel fairly biased including this in my round-up as it’s relatively new, but it’s a nail polish I’ve fallen in love with straight away. I have quite a few lighter shades from Essie but Lady Like is possibly my favourite yet. Lady Like is the most perfect nude mauve shade which is the kind of shade I’d reach for when I’m attempting to look somewhat sophisticated. I can see myself loving this all year round, to be honest but I think it’ll compliment all my autumnal red lips, copper eyes and burgundy hues nicely.
Essie Bahama Mama
Looking at my nail polish collection, I don’t actually own that many dark berry shades but that’s possibly because I don’t feel like I need much else other than Bahama Mama. This is up there as one of my all time favourite polishes and I reach for it year after year in autumn and winter. I’m a huge fan of Essie polishes anyway as they apply so easily and last so long and Bahama Mama ticks all my berry toned boxes.
Rimmel Super Gel in Flamenco Beach
One of my favourite colour ways for autumn is terracottas and browns, original I know, and I think nothing compliments an autumnal outfit more than red nails. Flamenco Beach is actually from Rimmel’s summer collection but I’m breaking all the rules and taking this one through to autumn with me. It’s quite a bright statement red but not too orange-toned to give away that it’s actually made for summer and again, I really like this formula.
Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing in Dark Side of the Shroom
It was quite a long time ago now that I reviewed the Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing range and since then I know there has been so many more shades introduced, but the original collection was just made for autumn. I had a hard time choosing between them all but I think Dark Side of the Shroom has to be my favourite as I don’t own much else like it. If you’re after a gorgeous taupe for autumn this may just be the one.
Models Own in Pinky Brown
I feel so bad mentioning this one because I know I’ve mentioned it in the past and realised it has been discontinued, and well I’ve made the same mistake again. If you can somehow find this on eBay, Amazon or they happen to re-release it as a special edition then get.your.hands.on.it. Pinky Brown (terrible name) is honestly autumn in a nail polish. I don’t normally go for shimmery or metallic polishes but the iridescent in Pinky Brown is just mesmerizing and it looks slightly different in every light. One of the most stunning polishes I own, sorry.
L’Oréal Rose Ballet
I’m a big fan of these L’Oréal polishes and that’s not just because they look bloody beautiful on my nail stand but the formula is pretty decent too! Rose Ballet is a great all rounder, I can see myself reaching for this in spring just as much as I can autumn. However, again I can see this working particularly well with all those autumnal hues as it’s a beautiful terracotta rose.
