As we all know, December is officially *the* party season due to all those Christmas work and friends parties and of course, New Year’s Eve at the end of the month. I’m the kind of person that gets way more excited about dressing up my makeup than actually dressing up with outfits and I always like to switch up my makeup to be a little be more than I would on a daily basis. Today I thought I’d share some of my favourite party picks!

I decided not to bang on about my top foundation, concealer and powder picks because let’s be honest, it would just be the same as always – Rimmel Stay Matte and Collection Lasting Perfect. So I thought I’d start with my general face picks. Bronzer is one of the areas that I definitely ramp up when I’m going on a night out and my favourite for the job is currently the B. Cosmetics Whipped Bronzer. Now, just as a warning, this stuff is insanely pigmented so you really need a light hand but because of the mousse texture it looks really skin-like and keeps a dewiness to my skin that normal powder bronzers take away.

For blush, I’ll be using my new Benefit Dallas blush which is unlike anything else I own. Dallas is one of those bronzer-blusher hybrids, especially on my pale skin but it just adds a slight rosiness that bronzer cannot deliver. It compliments a red lip really nicely too. I have to go all out with highlight during party season so of course, I go for the NYX Strobe of Genius Palette a beautifully palette full of incredibly pigmented highlighters. If you can’t go bold with highlighter during party season then when the hell can you?

Long-lasting makeup is key to a party look so my all-time favourite NARS Smudgeproof Primer Base will definitely be used for any special occasions to make sure my eyeshadow lasts all day. Speaking of eyeshadow, I’ve got two options to share, a high-street and a high-end one so no matter your budget you can still enjoy a good party look. The Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel Eyeshadow Quad has been my go-to going out palette for years, I just love the smoky bronzed eye you can create with it. It was limited edition but it seems to come out every Christmas so if you do spot it definitely pick it up! My high street option is the Makeup Revolution My Sign Fire Palette which contains the most beautiful selection of shades including some really pretty party shimmers.

I haven’t picked out a mascara this time around as I tend to rotate between a few, but I have included the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer as this is transforming even my most everyday mascaras into being complete knockouts. Priming my lashes makes such a difference in both volume and length and is a step I won’t be missing this month. For eyeliner, I’ll obviously be reaching for my all-time favourite DHC Liquid Eyeliner.

On my lips I’ve picked out two selections, a red and a nude. If you know my blog well enough, you could probably pick my favourite red and nude before seeing the names and photos as they’ve had a lot of love on my blog over the years. The red is obviously Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red which is still my favourite red and my favourite luxury lipstick for the season. My nude is (another obvious choice) MAC Velvet Teddy which is my go-to for when I want something a bit more subtle.
