November has honestly been one of the busiest months of my year so far, and I’ve ended up having endless no-makeup days as I just haven’t had time to put makeup on being so busy. I did manage to squeeze in a holiday at the end of the month to Tenerife which was so nice especially after how manic things had been and when we dressed up in the evenings it was really nice wearing some makeup. So this month I can’t say I had too many beauty favourites as I just didn’t try that much, but there are a few essentials in here and holiday favourites so let’s get going with them.

Joan Collins Class Act Mascara
Earlier this month I went to a really great masterclass with Joan Collin’s MUA where we got to try out some of the range. I wrote a whole post on my first impressions if you fancy a read, but the mascara was definitely a stand out product for me. I feel like I’ve tried a lot of mediocre mascaras recently so it has been so nice to finally discover one I really like. It adds a nice amount of length and volume without being too heavy for an everyday mascara and on minimal makeup days this has made all the difference in making me look awake.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream
I’ve had this for a fair few months now and let’s just say after all the hype, I was disappointed. I had tried applying it with both a beauty sponge and buffing brush and nothing was wow’ing me, but a few weeks back I tried applying it directly with my fingers – which I normally hate doing – and actually I much prefer it. I still don’t think it’s holy grail worthy but it makes me skin look nice and dewy and I love the added skincare benefits. I took this on holiday with me as I needed all the SPF I could get!

MAC Whirl Lipstick
Whirl has been on my MAC wish list for a while now and I was so excited when Harry came home with it one day after a work break to Prague. As you probably know, the MAC matte formulation will always be one of my favourites and Whirl is exactly what I wanted in my life. I haven’t worn it much because I really haven’t worn lipstick but I did wear it on a night out and it looked great – if I don’t say so myself. A new favourite for sure.

Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty’s Touch
I always struggle with knowing what to wear on my cheeks with a red or berry lip because pink blushers just don’to go, but actually this really sheer Milani face powder has been great for the job. I’ve also worn it on its own just to perk up my complexion when I can’t be bothered with any more makeup so it has had a whole lot of love this month. I always pigeon-holed this as a spring/summer blush but I’m glad I gave it a go at this time of year!

HD Brows High Definition Eye & Brow Palette
I picked this up from work on a whim as I’ve heard so many good things about HD Brows over the years, mainly for their brow services rather than makeup. Honestly, I’m so impressed with this little palette. The shadows are definitely on the powdery side and very highly-pigmented so it’s not that forgiving but the shades themselves are great for my ashy brows and they just doesn’t budge either. I haven’t tried it as an eyeshadow palette yet but I think it could become a great basics one.

KissMe Liquid Lipstick in Poison Apple
Last but not least is a liquid lipstick from a brand I work for who very kindly send me over some of their liquid lipsticks. I fell in love with the frosted glass and rose gold packaging instantly but it’s the formula I love the most. This is the most long-lasting liquid lipstick I’ve tried and the formula isn’t particulary drying either. It’s a gorgeous red and works nicely for holiday (where I wore it) and will be loved over Christmas too! My favourite new red.
