My January favourites are always very much full of Christmas presents and that is no exception this year around. In January I always feel completely overwhelmed but excited by makeup again as I have so many new things to try and have that ‘new year new me’ lease of life which means experimenting and getting into good skincare and makeup routines. Whilst I’ve genuinely loved everything I received for Christmas, today I thought I’d share the standouts so far.

Mac Lipstick in See Sheer

This was a bit of a spontaneous pick for Christmas as it had never featured on a wish-list, I hadn’t heard anything of it in a few years, and I basically just never considered it. But at the MAC counter, I found myself picking it up multiple times, so I was clearly drawn to it on our shopping day and I’m so glad I trusted my instincts as I just love it. I’ve realised that a sheer red is one of my favourite lip colours and this ticks all those sheer red boxes. It applies and reapplies easily, it’s not too creamy on the lips just comfortable, and is a gorgeous shade. I can see this getting a lot of use all year around.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Incandescent Electra

I love the Hourglass blushers and for ages, I thought that nothing could top Dim Infusion, and whilst I’ll never stop loving that gorgeous warm peachy blush, there is a new favourite in town. I’ve basically used Incandescent Electra every day throughout January which is so not me as normally I switch up my blush daily.  I can’t explain how beautiful this one is at perking up my skin as it’s basically a highlighter and blush in one and is just an ultra-flattering girly pink shade. Beautiful.

Fenty Beauty Highlighter Duo

Another one of the stand-outs for January has to be my Highlighter Duo from Fenty Beauty in Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal. I expected for these to be good but didn’t realise they’d be quite as good as they are. The formulation is beautifully buttery, it kind of reminds me of the Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow formula as it has that creamy mousse-like texture rather than a powder. The pay-off is just insane too, with the left shade being perfect for every day and the right one for evening looks.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara*

This is actually the only product which I didn’t get for Christmas but I received it just before my hiatus so I haven’t mentioned it yet, but basically I was kindly sent Roller Lash which makes me so happy as it used to be my favorite mascara. Well I’ve definitely rekindled my love for it as I’ve used it every single day of January and I’ll definitely be repurchasing it again once it’s over as I never want to not own this one again!

Marc Jacobs Palette in Scandalust

Last but certainly not least is the gorgeous Marc Jacobs Palette in Scandalust. I went and stayed with my mum for over a week in January as Harry went on a work trip and I only took this palette with me and to be honest I didn’t feel like I needed anything else at all. I created so many different looks and it never got boring to use. The shades are just to my taste and the formula is perfect. A must-have.
