I really vividly remember when I discovered Benefit Cosmetics, way more than any other beauty brand. I remember being absolutely fascinated and enamored by their packaging and wanting to be the kind of person who has a great Benefit collection. Years later and I’ve tried a lot from their range, and I’ve also loved a lot from their range. I feel like lots of bloggers think Benefit are a bit ‘all style and no substance’ and lots don’t even like the packaging. But for me, I’ve always loved the quality of Benefit products, so today I thought I’d share my top 5 picks. Choosing just five wasn’t easy for me as I love so many of their products, so potentially expect a part two soon…
A few years ago They’re Real Mascara definitely would have been in this post (although it probably will be in my part 2), but after the release of Roller Lash, I had a new favourite from Benefit mascaras. I think this is my third tube of Roller Lash and when it runs out, I’ll be repurchasing it again as it’s just my go-to everyday mascara. It adds a nice amount of length without making my lashes look spidery but isn’t clumpy in the slightest. I love how the thin wand coats every single lash, including being easy for bottom lashes, and it isn’t too hard to remove either. My perfect mascara.
Erase Paste, now known as Boi-ing Brightening Concealer, sat in my collection unloved for quite some time but one day I gave it another go and I’ve pretty much used it every day since. I know most people don’t use a corrector daily but for my dark circles, it’s a must and I’ve got so used to applying this before any concealer. I wouldn’t really dream of applying a concealer on its own now as this just makes a huge difference. I also wouldn’t dream of wearing this on its own as it is really peachy and quite dark on my skin tone, but under concealer, it works miracles.
This is a relatively new favourite but one that I love so, so much. I’ve really struggled to find suitable ‘everyday’ highlighters as the ones that are subtle just don’t just up on my skin and anything that does show up is quite severe. Dandelion Twinkle answered all my everyday highlighter dreams as it shows up beautifully but just adds a nice soft-focus sheen to my skin. There’s no glitter here, it’s just pure sheen and I love it, especially layered over Dandelion Blush.
This one is another new favourite and if they hadn’t released this one, the original POREfessional probably still would have made the cut as a top 5. I do much prefer Pearl Primer though as it gives a gorgeous glow to my skin rather than mattifying it like the original. I’ve been wearing this on no makeup days a lot just to perk up my complexion, but obviously it’s lovely under makeup too.
It’s funny because I have tried a lot of brow gels and there are certain ones that, on paper, sound a lot better than Gimme Brow (namely Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows) but for some reason I always find myself going back to Gimme Brow. It’s just a no-fuss brow gel. I never have to worry about clumping, it’s a good colour match and it lasts all day. Plus they do lots of promotions to get these for free when you go in for brow treatments, so I nearly always get mine free!
