All this week I’ve been talking about my favourite autumnal makeup and one of my other favourite things to switch up is my nail polish. I’m a big fan of seasonal nail polish – I’m very strict as to when and where certain hues make an appearance. I have quite the collection of autumn-appropriate varnishes so it was a tricky job trying to pick out my favourites but let’s take a look at what I’ve picked for my edit.
So the other day I was chatting all about my favourite lipsticks for autumn and you may have thought I offered quite a few suggestions. Well, turns out, I have more, so many more. I decided to split my autumnal lipstick recommendations into two because one part clearly just wasn’t enough as I frickin’ LOVE autumn lipsticks and whilst the other day I was showing some neutral and brown shades, today I’m talking all about those classic berry and red shades. As before, I’ve got plenty of different formulas here so I’m sure at least one of these will satisfy your autumn lipstick needs.
It only feels like yesterday that I was writing up my summer collection series but yet somehow it was actually a fair few months ago now. As you seemed to like that summer series (and the spring one before that) I thought I’d come back with an autumn iteration, especially as autumn makeup is one of my absolute favourites. I’m not sure yet how many of these I’m going to do but starting with lipsticks was an obvious choice, as I’m having a little bit of a lipstick moment and I just feel like autumn is made for lipsticks. I actually had so many autumnal lipstick picks that I’ve decided to divide this into two parts, this first part which is more neutral and brown shades, and the second part which will be focusing on those classic autumnal berry and red lipsticks. I do realise that lots of the lipsticks in this post look fairly similar – aka identical – but I just love these nude brown shades for autumn so I couldn’t help myself!
As a beauty blogger, I know that I’m meant to love makeup all the time but if I’m honest there are some days and weeks where I just can’t be bothered and feel really uninspired. Well, now is not one of those times. I’m having a real makeup moment and just love experimenting with eyeshadow looks, highlighter and bolder lips. I feel like I’ve come a long way with makeup in the last few years and now really understand what works for me and what’s worth experimenting with. This has been massively spurred on by autumn which I always find an inspiring and creative time of year and my makeup bag for October definitely feels autumnal.
September is always one of my favourite months. I guess I still have some of that motivated ‘back to school’ mentality in me as even as a 24-year-old I kind of associate September with new starts and being productive. In typical blogger style, I also love the changing seasons as I’ve always been much more of an autumn/winter person than a summer person – although summer has grown on me – I really do love the cosier weather, the layered fashions and darker evenings. This has definitely been one of my favourite months of 2017 and I’ve got some great goals ahead of October to work towards too.
