I honestly feel like I’ve blinked and I’ve missed the whole of April, I know it’s slightly cliché to say oh where has the time gone?! but this month has just seemed to fly by. Going home for five days over Easter was really nice, although I definitely ate too much chocolate, but since then April has become a bit of a blur. I think it’s all that constant playing catch up after the bank holidays that threw me, and to be honest I haven’t been all that productive this month so the days have kind of rolled into one. My goals for May definitely revolve around having more of a routine, and generally getting a lot more done!
Having combination skin, I always feel like I’m teetering on a fine line between glowing and oil slick, so for years, I was very much sceptical of the dewy look. With my old routine, I’d look radiant and sun kissed for about an hour or two, but any more than that and makeup was basically melting off my face so glowy makeup was definitely left to evenings out only. Nowadays, I opt for dewy makeup on pretty much an everyday basis as I’ve found a combination of products which really work for my skin. Today I thought I’d share the makeup I love using for having a glowing complexion, with no oil slicks or disco balls to be seen.
You may have noticed, although let’s be honest you probably didn’t, that last month I skipped out my skincare round up. I just felt like there wasn’t much new to say throughout March as I try so hard to not switch up my routine as much anymore. I had put up my Evening Skincare Routine too, so I felt like you all knew what I was up to skincare wise. This month I’ve been writing a lot about skincare as a freelance writer and I feel like I’ve become incredibly educated on different ingredients and what my skin actually needs, so I do want to make some changes and have really enjoyed trying some new products. So basically a lot more to say for April!
It’s been a while since I’ve paid much attention to beauty boxes. I used to be a complete Glossybox addict, dabbled a little with Birchbox and toyed with other boxes which are now long gone. I got fed up of ending up with loads of samples that weren’t right for me, or that I simply didn’t want. So when Latest In Beauty got in touch about their completely different type of beauty box, I was interested.
Last month I wrote a post about all my nail varnish on display and it seemed to go down well, so I thought I’d explore more of my makeup collection. I was going to do a ~whole collection post~ but actually, that would be nearer a dissertation than a blog post so I’ve decided to split things up a bit. Today I’m here with my lipstick on display, and over the next few months, I’ll be drip feeding more of my collection, including in my trusty makeup drawers where the rest of my lipsticks are stored. The lipsticks in this post are the ones I have out on the top of my drawers, they’re a combination of the prettiest ones (I’m looking at you YSL), as well as a few ones I reach for the most regularly.
