Fairly recently, in my mission to show you my entire makeup collection, I delved into my blush drawer to show you the peachy pink shades. Today I’m back and this time I’m chatting more neutral blushers. I used to be a huge fan of the bright blush, the brighter the better. I was so just drawn to those bright reds, bright pinks and bright purples, which you’ll see when I show you that part of my collection. Nowadays, I have much more of an appreciation for nude blushes which maybe aren’t quite so in your face but gently warm up and even contour my complexion. I can see this collection growing more over the years as I now reach for these all the time.
When I ordered my last Colourpop Haul it took me bloody ages to decide what to actually put in my basket, I’m sure there were hundreds of iterations by the end. I couldn’t decide whether to buy “Colourpop cult classics” or just see what took my fancy, in the end, I decided to do a bit of both. Saddle Up was one of my risks. A bright orange lip gloss is not typically what I’d pick up, but the one-line description mentioned how it’s a sheer shade, which I knew I’d love. Due to the lack of photos of the shade, I really didn’t know what I was letting myself in for, so as soon as I got it I knew it had to be a product I’d review, so hopefully, future Colourpop shoppers could get the full idea before they bought.
I’ve said time and time again that one of my favourite things about blogging is discovering new brands, and very occasionally a brand will come along which really catches my eye. This time round it’s the brand B. Cosmetics, sold in Superdrug and known for being both cruelty-free and vegan. I was lucky enough to try a fair few pieces from their normal range but the main event was the Cassie Lomas collection, created alongside the celebrity makeup artist herself. I wasn’t planning on doing a full review of the collection but I loved it all so much that I just couldn’t help myself. I’ve created a look with the range at the end which shows everything in action.
As soon as it hits September, the evenings start getting darker, the temperatures drop and all those berry lipsticks come out of the woodwork, so August really is the last month to make the most of summer makeup. I’ve worn my fair share of brights already this year but really want to amp it up throughout the next month. As well as a few summer brights, I’ve also got some constant favourites in my makeup bag this month – I’m not constantly changing things up after all. I hope you enjoy having a rummage through!
The last life update was back in May and it was a bit of a miserable one, and last month I decided to skip it out altogether because I still wasn’t feeling quite myself. I would say I’m almost back to my normal chirpy self now, although July has been one of the weirdest and least structured months ever, I’ll come onto that. August is a really busy one which I can’t wait for and I plan on completing lots of summer goals!
